Los
Angeles, CA - On Friday November 13, Warner
Home Video staged their own Flash Mob, this time with
a Southern Twist. Time was suspended as 70 couples in period
costumes celebrated the 70th Anniversary of America's #1
Movie of All Time by dancing "The World's Largest Virginia
Reel" in the historic Marietta Georgia Town Square.
In
addition, four original cast members attended: Ann Rutherford
("Carreen O'Hara"), Mickey Kuhn ("Beau Wilkes"
at age 7), Patrick Curtis ("Baby Beau Wilkes")
and Greg Geise (infant "Bonnie Blue Butler" &
infant "Beau Wilkes"), along with Gina Miller
who was an extra. Bill Dunaway, the Mayor of Marietta (the
town celebrates its 175th anniversary) hosted the event
with special guest Robert Osborne, Turner Classic Movies'
primetime host.
The
event was topped off with the unveiling of a giant anniversary
cake which was a replica of Tara for everyone to share.
The
event heralded Warner Home Video's highly anticipated November
17 Blu-ray/DVD release of Gone
with the Wind 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition
and Turner Classic Movies' December 15 screening of the
film on the actual anniversary of the film's original premiere
in Atlanta.

Los Angeles, CA - YouTube.com is the place to find out what's
new in the medium of indie film. Well, short indie film.
Some things get buried due to the immense offerings. So,
I like to share when I happen upon a wild-card that is fun
and... well...shareable. This week I have found two. One
is a reworking of a Beatles' tune. The other is a fun Edward
Gorey - meets - Tim Burton
-ah-
yet completely original journey back to school...

Depp
and Thompson sitting in a tree...again!
Los
Angeles, CA - Rumors suck - unless they are cool: You may
remember Johnny Depp's wild ride as Hunter S. Thompson in
"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas." Well, he's doing
it again!
Per
IMDB.com:
Depp is bringing Hunter S. Thompson's autobiographical novel
The Rum Diary to the silver screen - seven years after he
was announced as the leading man. Depp was cast to play
the role of Thompson in 2000, co-starring with Nick Nolte
in the tale of a journalist's adventures as he moves from
New York to a San Juan newspaper in Puerto Rico. Benicio
Del Toro and Josh Hartnett were also appointed to star in
the movie in 2002, but the actors, including Nolte, are
no longer involved in the film. The revived project will
now be produced by Depp and The Departed filmmaker Graham
King - who has acquired the full rights to the book. The
Rum Diary will be penned and directed by Withnail And I
writer Bruce Robinson.
This news of pending release makes election
year almost worth looking forward to!
