The

Bluntly
speaking? The soundtrack, The Ring Two, well out performs its film
in this case. The selections are delightfully eerie and tinkle the senses properly.
One really just needs to scan the contributing composers (Hans Zimmer, Martin
Tillman and Henning Lohner) to realize this one is going to be special. The
first track, 'The Well,' has a haunting piano reminiscent of the film's scariest
scene and it is a kind of a musical introduction to the gory-tinged glory to come.
You're about to take a helluva journey with these subtle selections. Sure
enough, soon, it's that whole magic world of sensations; creshendoing cellos and
mad violins abounding, amongst a precision orchestra. The chill inducing notes
would certainly make any bike ride while listening seem sinister! The
music lurks and sneaks between the ears, conjuring up all kinds of mischievous
audible mayhem. Track four, 'Burning Tree,' in particular, is good old-fashioned
horror film music at its finest. You don't want to listen to this little ditty
alone while the Willow tree beckons you out into a storm - no good could come
of it. Though, the beautiful otherworldly works do make you want to snuggle
in with a cup of chamomile, and a trusted blanket - they are just that hair raising-ly
spooky, albeit preciously performed; the notes perfectly chosen for their subconscious
affect. As
an added creep-factor (a creature-double-feature dollop), the cd includes some
previously unreleased music from The Ring score. If you enjoy the sounds of a
good scare (minus the shrill vocal screaming and ghostly boos) this is a wonderful
ensemble of frights! And over all , the three remarkable composers involved in
this enchanting (darkly enchanting) score, each ad a bit of their particular talents,
making this soundtrack a stand alone musical journey and an immediate must
have. Enjoy! Buy
